Ukrainian maker creates wheeled turret mounting two AK rifles for combat drone

Brave1, Ukraine’s defence-technology incubator, announced a new uncrewed ground vehicle that mounts a dual-rifle turret on a four-wheel platform. The turret holds two Kalashnikov assault rifles positioned side-by-side on a pan-and-tilt gimbal, with modifications that allow remote firing commands while still requiring a soldier to reload and rack the bolt. Alpha Group special forces employed the drone in combat to destroy a Russian ambush drone, demonstrating its operational use.

The design was built to a technical brief issued by Brave1, leveraging the widespread availability of AK-type weapons across Ukrainian forces. Over five units are presently conducting field trials, underscoring Kyiv’s strategy to field low-cost, rapidly scalable combat UGVs to reduce infantry exposure on the front line.
