Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremska says Russian missile razed her Odessa flat

Dayana Yastremska announced that a Russian Kalibr cruise missile struck her residential building in Odessa, completely destroying the apartment and setting the top floors ablaze. Images released by the player reveal the severity of the impact, with flames initially endangering the entire block before firefighters intervened. Every personal item was consumed by the fire except a single orange towel featuring the Roland-Garros emblem, which hung from a remaining wall fragment.

In her accompanying message, Yastremska condemned the World Tennis Association (WTA) and the International Tennis Federation (ITF) for maintaining a stance of "neutrality" that she says ignores Ukraine's suffering. The incident follows a recent attack that damaged Elina Svitolina's padel club, underscoring the ongoing threat to Ukrainian athletes amid the war.
