Umar Kremlev Says Donald Trump Jr. Repaid Russian-Funded Wedding Expenses
Russian businessman Umar Kremlev confirmed that Donald Trump Jr. returned the money he contributed to the Trump wedding in the Bahamas.
During a press briefing for the International Boxing Association in Istanbul, Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev announced that Donald Trump Jr. has paid back the funds he provided for the Trump wedding weekend. Kremlev, who covered “hundreds of thousands” of expenses for the three-day ceremony held in the Bahamas, said he finds the repayment unnecessary, comparing it to issuing an invoice after inviting someone to a country house.
The wedding united Donald Trump Jr. with Palm Beach socialite Bettina Trump and was partially financed by Kremlev’s contribution. President Donald Trump, who did not attend the event, defended the practice and claimed that such reimbursements are routine. Kremlev’s comments were delivered through an interpreter, emphasizing the oddity of the transaction.
