Union pushes for contract suspension and special compensation for Pizza Fan staff
The Panhellenic Federation of Food and Tourism Workers is urging the labour minister to place Pizza Fan employees under contract suspension to secure special compensation and maintain their insurance coverage.
Following a major VAT fraud scandal at Pizza Fan, the federation sent a letter to Minister of Labour and Social Security Niki Kerameos requesting protective measures for workers across the chain’s 110 outlets nationwide. It argues that suspending contracts would enable staff to receive the designated special-purpose compensation and keep their health and pension benefits active during the interim.
Why it matters
Ensuring compensation and insurance for affected workers helps mitigate the social impact of the fraud scandal.
