United introduces online tool to verify Starlink Wi-Fi on upcoming flights

United now offers a web tool where passengers can enter flight details to see if Starlink satellite Wi-Fi is available, covering nearly half of its daily departures.

United has launched a new online tracker that allows passengers to input their flight number and travel date up to three days before departure to confirm the presence of Starlink satellite Wi-Fi. The tool reflects real-time changes, such as aircraft swaps, and displays which daily departures feature the service. United says it now has 635 aircraft—including United mainline and United Express—fitted with Starlink, covering roughly half of its scheduled flights.

The interface also lets users explore Wi-Fi availability across hubs like Chicago, Newark, Washington, DC, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston and Denver, and break down the numbers by regional, narrow-body and wide-body planes. The airline intends to outfit 20 additional planes each week, targeting full installation by the close of 2027. Competitors offering Starlink internet include Emirates, Qatar Airways, WestJet, SAS, Alaska Airlines and Air France.

Why it matters

Travelers can now confirm high-speed satellite Wi-Fi on United flights, reducing uncertainty and improving connectivity planning.
