UnitedHealth Group’s senior staff, including its chief executive Stephen Hemsley, contributed heavily to the political fund of Massachusetts Rep. Katherine Clark, the House’s No. 2 Democrat. Over 40 officials and directors collectively donated more than $100,000 in one outlet election period. The Hemsleys each contributed $7,000, and the company’s top donors outpaced all but one other federal politician, Republican Sen. Mike Crapo of Idaho, who received less than half that amount.
