University of Kentucky slashes concession prices for 2026 football season

The University of Kentucky athletics department revealed that concessions at Kroger Field will be cheaper for the 2026 football season. Prices for staples like hot dogs, pretzels, nachos, popcorn, chicken baskets, soda and water have been reduced by a few dollars compared with the previous year. The most notable discount applies to select canned domestic beers, which now cost $5 instead of $10, representing a 50% cut.

Head coach Will Stein praised the initiative, saying it will enhance the atmosphere and give the team a stronger home advantage. The university hopes the lower prices will help ordinary fans enjoy games without the high expense typically associated with stadium concessions. This move also serves as a public-relations effort amid broader concerns about the cost of everyday items.
