Uno Minda commits ₹1,415 crore to expand manufacturing footprint across India
Auto parts maker Uno Minda announced a ₹1,415 crore investment to enlarge its production capacity, including new facilities in Tamil Nadu, Haryana and Karnataka.
Uno Minda disclosed a capital outlay of ₹1,415 crore aimed at strengthening its manufacturing base across several product lines. A new aluminium casting facility will be established on a separate land parcel on Thally Road in Hosur, raising peak capacity to 34,000 MT. The firm will also construct a 3.3 million-unit two-wheeler alloy-wheel plant in Kharkhoda, Haryana, with production expected to begin in the fourth quarter of FY28.
An ₹80 crore expansion will upgrade a moulding operation in Bangalore under its subsidiary Uno Minda Kyoraku Ltd, targeted for Q1 FY28. Additionally, a joint venture with Japanese partner Toyoda Gosei will launch a plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, to produce interior and exterior automotive components, with an anticipated start-up by Q4 FY29. Executives highlighted that the expansion reflects a disciplined strategy to capture growth opportunities and diversify geographically.
