UP RERA mandates digital certificates from architects, engineers and accountants for project reports

The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority announced that, beginning the July-September quarter, developers will need digitally signed certificates from architects, engineers and chartered accountants before submitting their quarterly progress reports. The certificates must be uploaded directly by the professionals through the UP RERA portal, replacing the current practice of scanned copies and supplementary media.

This requirement underpins the rollout of the “RERA 2.0” web portal, which will use the certified data to set project targets. Until the new portal is live, reports will continue on the existing system, with the digital step intended to prevent information gaps. UP RERA is establishing help desks in Lucknow and Greater Noida and will issue a detailed standard operating procedure to guide users. Chairman Sanjay R Bhoosreddy said the change will make project information more transparent, accurate and accessible to homebuyers and other stakeholders.
