Urgent overhead wire repairs force limited bus swaps and train delays on Sydney's North Shore

Transport for NSW announced that urgent repairs to overhead wiring at Chatswood have triggered extensive service changes on Sydney's North Shore this morning. Limited bus replacements run from Gordon to Chatswood, and an unscheduled rail shuttle connects Hornsby and Gordon in both directions. Trains that normally terminate at North Sydney and Berowra will continue as scheduled, but those usually starting or ending at Lindfield and Gordon now operate from North Sydney.

Additional cancellations aim to reduce congestion, and reduced frequencies are expected on the Western line, intercity routes, and the Central Coast line. Commuters are warned of potential 45-minute delays and are encouraged to use the Metro or travel via Strathfield where possible. Crews have been working overnight to resolve the wiring issue.
