US B-1B Lancers Return to European Skies at Czech NATO Air Show

The United States Air Force resumed public demonstrations of its B-1B Lancer bombers in Europe with a flyover at the NATO Days and Czech Air Force Days air show in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The appearance follows months of reduced airshow participation while the bombers were engaged in strikes against Iranian targets, including IRGC logistics and drone sites in July. Although the Royal International Air Tattoo was cancelled this year, the B-1Bs remain stationed in the UK, underscoring ongoing US involvement in the region.

Lt. Gen. Jason T. Hinds described the performance as a clear deterrent and a tribute to NATO’s defensive role. A B-1 pilot added that operating alongside Czech allies sharpens collective combat readiness. The Lancer, introduced in 1985 and now limited to conventional payloads, continues to serve as a key element of US air power with 45 aircraft still active.
