US clean-energy and transport spending jumps 22% to $75 billion in Q2
US clean-energy and transportation investment reached $75 billion in the second quarter, a 22% rise from the previous three months.
The Clean Investment Monitor recorded $75 billion in clean-energy and transport spending for Q2, the second-largest quarterly total on record. Retail investment drove the growth, with residential battery-storage projects climbing to $12 billion, double the prior quarter and coinciding with falling solar prices. Manufacturing outlays rose 4% after six quarters of decline, spurred by the removal of tax incentives under Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, while project cancellations increased by 4% to $1.7 billion.
Why it matters
The surge shows growing private capital for US clean energy, but rising cancellations signal lingering market uncertainty.
