US removes diplomat accused of child-image offenses from UK, mother calls it unforgivable

According to reports, US authorities covertly entered the London flat of an American diplomat accused of owning indecent images of children, removed him without notifying British police, and transported him to a US airbase for departure. Charlotte Charles, whose son Harry Dunn was killed by US citizen Anne Sacoolas after diplomatic immunity was invoked, called the maneuver "unforgivable" and urged the public to demand one outlet’s extradition to the UK.

One outlet was not arrested, as US personnel have no arrest powers in Britain and no formal extradition request was filed. UK ministers are said to be discussing the matter with the US embassy, highlighting potential strain in bilateral relations. Both governments reiterated expectations that foreign diplomats obey local laws, while a US embassy spokesperson acknowledged awareness of the allegations and stressed high conduct standards. The Metropolitan Police continue to liaise with US authorities on the case.
