USR accuses PSD of blocking vote on probe into luxury private trips and Nordis flights
USR alleges that PSD prevented a plenary vote to create a parliamentary committee investigating private luxury trips to Mykonos and Nice and the use of Nordis charter flights.
In a public statement, USR charged PSD with political and procedural misconduct for obstructing the formation of a parliamentary inquiry into costly private trips to Mykonos and Nice and the use of Nordis charter flights. USR says PSD ignored the Chamber of Deputies’ regulation that any request to establish an investigative committee must be voted on by the plenary. The inquiry, backed by USR and PNL, would comprise 25 deputies, hold public sessions and publish findings on travel expenses, participant selection and funding sources.
Diana Stoica, USR’s group leader, described the move as a deliberate attempt to suppress a scandal affecting PSD, citing that PSD leaders Marcel Ciolacu and Sorin Grindeanu flew on private jets paid by Nordis, as reported. The request, registered as 942/15.09.2026, was supposed to go directly to the plenary under the Chamber’s rules.
