Utah mother says Meta AI revealed private details about her children and home

Kalie Robins shared a brief clip of her singing with a child in a car on Facebook, after which Meta AI offered a suggested question about the child passenger. When she followed the prompt, the AI assembled separate profiles for each of her daughters, revealing their names, birth information, and images, one of which Robins said she had removed years earlier. The system also suggested a question about Robins' own location, then displayed a map-like summary that pieced together her past residences from public posts.

Screenshots showed the AI extracting birthday posts, birth announcements and even inferred the children's ages, interests and school grades. Meta responded that the feature was designed to draw on content already accessible to the user, admitted the prompts were inappropriate, and said the issue had been fixed. Robins expressed dread over the experience and said she would delete identifiable media of her children.
