Uttar Pradesh cabinet approves ethanol plant, toy policy and multiple infrastructure projects

The Uttar Pradesh cabinet met under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and sanctioned 23 different proposals. Sugarcane Minister Chaudhary Lakshmi Narayan announced the conversion of a 19-year-old sugar mill in Chhata, Mathura, into an ethanol plant that will run 11 months annually and generate 3.96 crore litres of ethanol, costing ₹200 crore, with future sugar production contingent on cane availability. A Toy Manufacturing Promotion Policy for 2025 was also adopted to attract investment and create jobs.

Other decisions included establishing an NSG regional centre in Milkipur, creating a new university in Aligarh, easing land requirements for automatic vehicle testing centres, and approving a 15.172-km, six-lane Chitrakoot Link Expressway funded entirely by the state at an estimated ₹1,008.67 crore. Additional measures covered smart school upgrades, concessional loans for small farmers, and reservation quotas for former Agniveers in jail warden and transport enforcement posts.
