Uttar Pradesh Home Guard Arrested for Killing Wife and Daughter with Data Cable
A 56-year-old Home Guard in Lucknow was taken into custody after allegedly strangling his wife and daughter with a data cable while they slept.
Authorities in Lucknow arrested 56-year-old Home Guard Ravindra Shankar after he allegedly used a data cable to strangle his wife, Shyama Dulari, and their daughter, Pooja Sahu, while they slept in their Krishnanagar home. The crime came to light around 6 a.m. on Friday when police, acting on a missing-person report, found the bodies and launched an investigation. Preliminary findings point to a history of domestic arguments, and the daughter had been divorced twice before moving back in with her father.
Senior officers inspected the scene, a forensic team gathered evidence, and post-mortem examinations were ordered. In a related incident nearby, 28-year-old painter Sukhpal was found injured after a dispute with his friend Rajesh Rawat alias Kali and later died at Lokbandhu Hospital; police have formed teams to locate Rawat.
