Uttar Pradesh to Build Yiwu-Style International Trade City in Noida
The Yogi Adityanath administration plans a new International Trade City in Noida’s YEIDA zone, modeled after China’s Yiwu hub, to boost exports from the state’s MSMEs.
The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Yogi Adityanath, announced plans to develop an International Trade City within the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority’s jurisdiction in Noida. Inspired by China’s Yiwu International Trade City, the venture aims to provide a consolidated platform where manufacturers can display, trade and export their products. With roughly 9.5 million micro, small and medium enterprises in the state, the hub is intended to open new domestic and foreign buyer channels.
A senior Invest UP official highlighted the role of the nearby Noida International Airport in delivering air and logistics connectivity to key markets. The initiative is also linked to the state’s flagship One District One Product scheme, seeking to promote traditional and indigenous industries. Expected benefits include job creation in logistics, warehousing, packaging and related services, positioning Uttar Pradesh as a South Asian investment destination.
Why it matters
The project could transform Uttar Pradesh into a major export hub, enhancing opportunities for millions of local manufacturers.
