Uygur warns Epstein files could cripple GOP in 2026 midterms

He asserted that Donald Trump has sapped energy from the party’s base and that the controversy surrounding the Epstein documents eclipses other issues such as the conflict in Iran or economic affordability. According to Uygur, the files act as a stand-in for voters’ mistrust of GOP leadership, highlighting Trump’s broken promise to release the records and his alleged protection of powerful figures.

He emphasized that the released material has only intensified public anger, noting that “we know what they did, and we know they should be prosecuted.” Uygur pointed to podcasters like Joe Rogan abandoning Trump as a sign that even media personalities are pressured to be more honest, suggesting the party faces deeper challenges than it realizes.
