Valencian Government Approves First Aid Package for Flood Victims After Dana Adam
The Consell met in an extraordinary session and approved an initial aid package for residents hit by the Dana Adam floods in southern Valencia and northern Alicante.
In an extraordinary plenary, the Consell approved a first set of relief measures for communities affected by the Dana Adam storm along the southern Valencia coast and the northern Alicante coast. President Juanfran Pérez Llorca said the aid is designed to cut bureaucracy, with direct payments to families for home repairs and a monthly subsidy for displaced households. Local councils will obtain funding to cover immediate costs, and the Generalitat will provide free legal and notarial assistance for insurance claims.
Additional support for vehicle losses, agriculture, commerce, hospitality and animal shelters is slated for a forthcoming package. The regional government has also deployed cleaning equipment, repair crews and temporary power to restore infrastructure and public services.
Why it matters
Rapid, low-bureaucracy aid helps flood-hit families rebuild and restores essential services in the region.
