Vår Energi posts stronger Q3 earnings and raises dividend amid higher oil and gas prices

Vår Energi reported a higher pre-tax profit for the third quarter and announced an increased dividend, boosted by rising oil and gas prices.

Vår Energi disclosed that its third-quarter pre-tax result improved compared with the same quarter a year earlier, reflecting stronger market conditions. The company increased its dividend for the quarter and indicated that a comparable payout is expected for the following quarter. Higher oil prices, reaching over $100 per barrel, and gas prices, climbing above $100 per million British thermal units, contributed to the earnings boost.

Earlier in the summer, Vår Energi announced the purchase of Bluenord. Production for the quarter remained steady at around 369,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, with a revised full-year 2026 outlook of about 390,000 barrels per day due to operational challenges at the Johan Castberg field, the Jotun vessel and the Åsgard area.

Why it matters

The earnings lift shows how higher energy prices are benefiting Norwegian producers and may influence dividend expectations.
