Veteran broadcaster Jon Gelius quits NRK to run as Høyre mayoral candidate in Arendal

After a career spanning over three decades at NRK, Jon Gelius announced his departure to pursue a role in local politics as Høyre’s mayoral candidate in Arendal. The nomination committee, chaired by former mayor Torill Rolstad Larsen, voted unanimously in his favor, citing his public profile and competence. Gelius has secured a severance package from the broadcaster and plans to devote his time to meeting residents, businesses and community groups ahead of the election.
