Veteran defensive end Brandon Graham announces permanent retirement after Super Bowl win

Brandon Graham told an Eagles pep rally at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital that he is ending his NFL career for good.

At a pep rally held at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Brandon Graham declared his definitive retirement from the NFL, ending a 16-year tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles. He expressed confidence in teammates Jordan Davis and Jalen Hurts, emphasizing his focus on family and mentorship. Graham, who returned late in the previous season after Za'Darius Smith's retirement, appeared in nine games and recorded three sacks.

He also participated in the wild-card loss to the 49ers without registering a statistic. Closing his career with 79.5 sacks, a career-best 11 sacks in 2022, and a Super Bowl 2025 victory over the Chiefs, Graham thanked the organization and said he will remain involved in any capacity he chooses.

Why it matters

Graham's retirement marks the end of a notable NFL career and signals a leadership transition for the Eagles.
