Veteran Hollywood actor arrested on 24 felony child-sex abuse charges
Actor and producer Shane Ryan Gledhill was taken into custody on 24 felony counts alleging sexual abuse of minors through online casting calls.
Sheriff’s investigators arrested Shane Ryan Gledhill, a 46-year-old actor-producer with a résumé that includes work alongside Shelley Duvall, Richard Dreyfuss and Ed Harris. The probe began after a teenager reported inappropriate behavior in 2021, leading detectives to locate eight additional survivors, all of whom were underage when the alleged offenses occurred. A February 2022 raid on Gledhill’s residence on Courtney Drive in Lompoc seized extensive digital evidence that is undergoing forensic analysis.
Prosecutors have filed 24 felony counts, ranging from child molestation and rape to possession of child sexual-abuse material and illicit contact with minors. Investigators suspect the alleged conduct may extend beyond Santa Barbara County to other parts of California and possibly the East Coast. Gledhill was booked into the Northern Branch Jail on August 3 and is held on $500,000 bail while the case continues.
