Victoria Police interview four Sydney men in Swans hotel sexual assault probe

Victoria Police detectives visited New South Wales to interview four Sydney residents—a 26-year-old from Randwick, a 30-year-old from Maroubra, a 25-year-old from Randwick and a 25-year-old from Paddington—regarding alleged sexual assault at an East Melbourne hotel. The alleged events took place in the early hours of August 17 at the Pullman Hotel, opposite the MCG, where several adult entertainers were present with Sydney Swans players.

Three women subsequently reported the incident to police. While no arrests or charges have been filed, the club has suspended five players—vice-captain Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, James Jordan, Riley Bice and Nick Blakey—for breaching team standards. Investigators also intend to speak with three additional men who were in the room, treating them as witnesses. Police say they have now identified everyone present and expect to provide no further updates for roughly eight weeks.
