Video shows assaults on anti-Israel protesters in Toronto and Montreal
Two separate incidents captured on video showed individuals being punched and injured during anti-Israel demonstrations in Toronto and Montreal.
Police reports indicate that on Saturday a person walking north on Yonge Street near Grosvenor Street in Toronto was ambushed from behind, receiving multiple punches to the head that caused facial and leg injuries. The assailant, described as a five-foot-five, thin-built male with black hair, wore prescription glasses, a grey jacket, dark grey sweatpants and a black Under Armour backpack. In Montreal, footage shows an older woman being knocked down, a younger woman intervening, and police arriving to detain a participant while another woman appears to suffer a wound above her eyebrow after the suspect throws an object.
The video also captures bystanders mocking the injured individual, including a person wearing a sweater with an inverted red triangle. Montreal police have been contacted for additional details.
