Vidio partners with ReelShort to launch hundreds of short-drama titles in Indonesia

Indonesian streaming service Vidio has teamed up with micro-drama platform ReelShort, adding hundreds of short-drama episodes to its catalogue from Sept. 1.

Vidio announced a partnership with ReelShort, the micro-drama service owned by Crazy Maple Studio, to bring a large library of short-drama titles to Indonesian viewers beginning Sept. 1. The content will appear in a dedicated Short Drama section and be accessible to subscribers of Vidio’s TV Extra, Platinum, Platinum Extra and Ultimate packages, with more than 200 titles initially offered with Indonesian dubbing and additional titles subtitled.

Beyond distribution, the agreement includes joint productions with Indonesian studios, creating series that will stream on both platforms and providing a skills-exchange for local creators. The arrangement was brokered by AR Global Media Network and extends ReelShort’s Southeast Asian rollout after deals in Thailand and the Philippines. Vidio reported 5.8 million paying subscribers in Q2 2026, holding the largest SVOD share in Indonesia at 20.7%, while MPA data shows the country accounts for 39% of regional short-form drama viewership.

Why it matters

The deal expands Indonesian access to fast-growing short-drama content and strengthens Vidio’s lead in the competitive streaming market.
