Viessmann Group becomes new shareholder of FC Bayern Munich AG
The Viessmann Generations Group bought the last available share package of FC Bayern Munich AG, joining the club's minority owners.
The Viessmann Generations Group, headquartered in Munich and a sponsor of FC Bayern since 2018, purchased the remaining share package of FC Bayern Munich AG that could be sold without a vote from club members. This acquisition was carried out as part of a capital increase, and neither the club nor Viessmann disclosed the transaction amount. Max Viessmann, CEO of the family firm, will become a member of the club's supervisory board, increasing its size to ten members.
The four minority shareholders—Adidas, Audi, Allianz and Viessmann—now collectively own roughly thirty percent of the AG, with Viessmann holding a modest share. Club president Herbert Hainer said the move strengthens the ownership structure and enhances the equity base in a period of constant change.
Why it matters
The deal reshapes FC Bayern's ownership balance and adds a new voice to its supervisory board.
