Vietjet Air launches twice-weekly Prague-Hanoi service with Almaty stop

Vietjet Air began a twice-weekly Prague-Hanoi route on Oct. 10, including a scheduled stop in Almaty, marking the first regular link between the two capitals.

Vietjet Air inaugurated a Prague-Hanoi flight on Oct. 10, the inaugural regular airline service between the two cities in modern Czech history. The carrier will operate twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, using a 377-seat Airbus A330-300. Although marketed as a direct service, each flight makes a scheduled 90-minute stop in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Departures leave Prague at 20:55 local time and arrive in Hanoi the next afternoon, while the return departs Hanoi at 08:25 and lands in Prague the same evening. The route is designed to serve Czechia’s sizable Vietnamese community—nearly 70,000 Vietnamese citizens and many more of Vietnamese heritage—anticipating demand for family visits, tourism and business, with the airport estimating more than 67,000 travelers in the first year. Fares begin at roughly CZK 18,000, and the service gives Vietjet its first European destination, offering further connections across Asia.
