Vikings' Jamal Adams carted off with knee injury during preseason win
Jamal Adams left the field with a knee problem early in the Vikings' 13-10 preseason victory at MetLife Stadium.
During a preseason contest that ended 13-10 in favor of Minnesota, Jamal Adams suffered a knee injury while defending a New York Giants route in the red zone. The 30-year-old, who joined the Vikings only weeks earlier, went down without contact and required assistance from a cart to exit the field. Coach Kevin O’Connell, speaking on the sidelines, called the injury “not good” after an initial assessment and expressed disappointment at losing Adams’ contributions.
Adams had been transitioning from safety to linebacker with the Vikings and had already made notable plays, including a key stop on a Giants run. The incident happened at MetLife Stadium, and Adams was escorted back to the team’s locker area for further evaluation.
Why it matters
The injury sidelines a versatile veteran, affecting the Vikings' defensive plans for the upcoming season.
