Villena council refutes claims of security cuts at Muvi museum
Javier Martínez, Villena town council spokesperson, called the regional president's allegation of reduced museum security a falsehood.
At a media event in Agost, the president of the Generalitat, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, asserted that the regional authority was not to blame for a decrease in the security allocation for Villena's Muvi museum, labeling the cut as a municipal decision. Javier Martínez, the town council's spokesperson and PSPV councillor, labeled the statement a "complete falsehood" and insisted that security funding had not been diminished.
He clarified that the recent budgetary change reflected investment in a new alarm system, whose installation costs are settled at purchase, leaving only routine maintenance expenses. Martínez argued that any reasonable observer, including the president, should understand that municipal investments are not linear each year. He also demanded that the president review the council's documentation, which the regional ministry had not funded, and called for responsible handling of public data. The council maintains that the museum's protection meets the highest standards, as certified by the regional Culture Ministry.
