Virat Kohli joins Sachin Tendulkar as only player with 15,000 ODI runs

Virat Kohli marked his 315th One-Day International by surpassing 15,000 runs during India’s first ODI against the West Indies at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The achievement makes him only the second batter, after Sachin Tendulkar, to reach that figure in ODI history. While Tendulkar remains the leading run-scorer with 18,426 runs, Kohli now sits 3,426 runs behind him.

The new total also puts Kohli at least 766 runs ahead of the next highest scorer, Kumar Sangakkara. In addition, Kohli has already overtaken Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI centuries, holding 54 centuries to date. The milestone underscores Kohli’s standing among the sport’s greatest run-makers.
