Taylor, a four-time elected prosecutor who sought the attorney-general post in 2025, points to a 90% homicide conviction rate and an 86% decline in murders during her leadership, arguing her record speaks for itself.
Her team also released an advertisement highlighting endorsements from 13 sheriffs, though only a single sheriff’s jurisdiction falls within the congressional district. The contest pits Wittman’s public-health background against Taylor’s law-and-order résumé, with both candidates leveraging law-enforcement support to sway voters in a district that Trump won by just under five points in 2024.
