Virginia restaurant worker arrested for premeditated stabbing of co-worker after affair exposed

Fairfax County prosecutors allege that 19-year-old Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos, an illegal immigrant, killed his co-worker Carmen Lizet Puch after she exposed their affair to his girlfriend. A fellow employee reported seeing Cedillos-Campos collect a kitchen knife, gloves and a water bottle from the Halal-focused Bitez restaurant in Herndon before heading to a meeting at Difficult Run Park in Great Falls. Puch, a mother of a three-year-old, was discovered stabbed repeatedly, her body drenched in gasoline in a gravel parking lot.

Investigators say video shows the suspect preparing the weapons and that he later called the coworker, claiming “he did it.” Cedillos-Campos was apprehended in Prince George’s County on August 19, confessed to the premeditated act, and now faces a second-degree murder charge while being held without bond. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed he had entered the United States illegally in April 2024 and had been released after a brief detention.
