Vista reports 18% surge in Malaysian private-jet traffic, outpacing regional growth
Vista's Malaysian private-aviation traffic grew 18% year-on-year in H1 2026, beating the 14% Asia-Pacific average.
Vista’s private-jet operations recorded an 18% year-on-year increase in Malaysia during the first half of 2026, outpacing the 14% growth seen across the Asia-Pacific region. Chief business officer Youssef Mouallem attributed the rise to robust industrial activity and a surge of business travelers demanding more flexible, shorter trips. He said Malaysia’s demand is growing ahead of the broader region and is likely to accelerate further in the second half of the year.
Vista, which operates VistaJet and the on-demand platform XO, also reported strong traffic gains in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines. The firm noted a growing share of younger, tech-savvy customers and a shift toward shorter booking windows. Despite higher jet-fuel prices, demand remains steady, while Vista plans to upgrade its fleet with new Global 8000 jets and calls for broader industry digitalisation.
Why it matters
The surge signals expanding wealth and business activity in Southeast Asia, reshaping the regional private-aviation market.
