Vivo unveils X500 Pro Max with 17-stop dynamic range and 4K240 slow-motion video

Vivo introduced its X500 series of flagship smartphones in China, featuring three models: the base X500, the X500 Pro and the top-tier X500 Pro Max. The Pro Max is the first device to employ Sony’s Lytia L910 image sensor, which uses LOFIC technology to deliver a claimed "true 17 EV ultra-high dynamic range," exceeding the 16.5 stops advertised by the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. It also inherits the 200-megapixel, 3.7× telephoto module from the X300 Ultra, compatible with a 400 mm teleconverter lens.

Powered by MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9600 Pro (the base X500 uses the 9600M), the phones gain performance gains and the ability to capture 4K video at 240 fps, along with 10-bit Log and new cinematic video modes. All three devices sport OLED displays sized from 6.36 to 6.85 inches, silicon-carbon batteries ranging from 6,510 mAh to 8,000 mAh, and run Vivo’s OriginOS 7. While the launch is currently limited to China, an international release is forthcoming, with timing yet to be announced.
