Vodafone rolls out student broadband plan costing £5 per person when shared
Vodafone introduced a student-focused broadband package priced at £20 a month for a household, which works out to about £5 each for four flatmates.
Vodafone has launched a broadband service aimed specifically at students, charging £20 per month for a household connection, which can be divided among four occupants to equal roughly £5 each. The plan offers up to 50 Mbps, with a faster 150 Mbps option available for an additional £1 after applying a £2 student discount. Eligibility must be confirmed via GoCertify, Student Beans or UNiDAYS.
The introductory rates are valid for 12 months; thereafter the 50 Mbps tier rises to £23.50 and the 150 Mbps tier to £24.50 from 1 April 2027, and the student discount expires. Survey data cited by Vodafone shows that broadband often sparks tension in shared student housing, with many students seeking parental assistance for utility bills and other household matters.
Why it matters
It offers an affordable internet option for student households, potentially easing cost-sharing conflicts.
