VoteVets Action Fund is spending $225,000 on television ads in Alaska that criticize Senator Dan Sullivan for his support of President Donald Trump’s Iran war powers.
The veterans-focused group has begun a campaign in Alaska, buying ads that link Sullivan’s votes on Iran to higher local prices for gasoline and beef. The advertisements claim the senator voted a dozen times to sustain the conflict. Sullivan is currently contesting a tight Senate race against former Democratic Representative Mary Peltola. VoteVets is also running substantial ad buys against Republican Rep. Ashley Hinson in Iowa and Rep. Derrick Van Orden.
