Vox submits hidden Justice documents to Supreme Court alleging unlimited generational citizenship
Vox has presented two previously unknown internal Justice memos to the Supreme Court, claiming they show that Spanish nationality can be passed down without generational limits.
Vox handed two internal Justice Office documents, signed by former director general Sofía Puente, to the Supreme Court, asserting they prove that Spanish nationality granted under the Law of Democratic Memory may be inherited indefinitely. The memos record consular queries about the extent of the right, asking if it could reach children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and further descendants, and the Ministry's response confirmed no generational restriction.
Vox's legal team filed the papers to challenge a state appeal seeking to lift precautionary measures imposed by the Court in September. The party also requests that Puente be called as a witness and that the responsible consular official be summoned. Additionally, Vox demands an anonymised table linking each nationality case to its registration in the overseas electoral census, to clarify how many applicants have completed the full process. The move comes as the government seeks to overturn the September precautions, while the Supreme Court must decide whether to admit the new evidence and order the requested data.
