Vučić pledges continued economic and infrastructure reforms at election rally
Aleksandar Vučić told supporters at the Belgrade Arena that Serbia has narrowed gaps between cities and rural areas, but further work on education, health and infrastructure remains needed.
At a large election meeting in the Belgrade Arena, Aleksandar Vučić, leader of the Aleksandar Vučić - Egyesült Szerbia list, said that recent years have seen a narrowing of the gap between Serbia's more developed cities and its poorer rural regions, a shift he attributed to the contributions of employees, pensioners and business owners. Despite these gains, he emphasized that substantial work remains, particularly in education, healthcare and the expansion of infrastructure such as drinking-water and sewage systems, road networks and energy production.
Vučić called for faster implementation to raise living standards and noted that his recent visits to smaller municipalities have revealed tangible progress, though difficulties continue. He announced that the upcoming period will focus on sustaining economic and infrastructural development. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who was slated to attend but was barred from flying due to health concerns, sent a written note expressing solidarity with Vučić and commending Serbia's recent economic achievements while reaffirming Slovakia's respect for Serbia's territorial integrity.
