Wanted suspect captured after walking into police officers' dinner break

Police had previously lost track of him twice, each time after he sprinted onto a nearby freeway. The encounter occurred around 8:30 p.m. on July 17, captured on the officers' body cameras as they rose from their table and approached the man near the counter.
No pursuit was necessary, and the suspect was taken into custody on the spot. The Monrovia Police Department posted the video on August 27 and added a humorous caption about the timing and the smell of chow mein. Details of the underlying probation violation have not been disclosed.
