Warner Bros. announced that the Game of Thrones movie "Aegon’s Conquest" will debut in theaters on June 1, 2029, directed by Owen Harris with a script by Beau Willimon.
The studio confirmed the title and release date for its first Game of Thrones feature, focusing on King Aegon I Targaryen’s unification of Westeros. Owen Harris will direct, while Beau Willimon provides the screenplay. The project was first revealed at CinemaCon earlier this year. The announcement follows more than a decade of speculation about a film adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s saga.
