Warriors lock up guard Brandin Podziemski with five-year, $110 million extension

Golden State signed guard Brandin Podziemski to a five-year, $110 million contract extension and he celebrated the deal on Instagram.

Golden State finalized a five-year, $110 million contract extension with guard Brandin Podziemski, reinforcing its commitment to its young talent. Podziemski promptly shared a graphic on his Instagram Story, captioning it with a short message. Drafted 19th overall in 2023, he appeared in every regular-season game last year, posting 13.8 points per game while logging 28.5 minutes on average.

The Warriors had earlier secured a two-year, $116 million extension for Steph Curry, aiming to keep its core intact. Management views Podziemski as a growing piece of the roster who must evolve into a top offensive option for the team to contend in the Western Conference. The extension signals the franchise’s intent to build around both veteran and emerging players.

Why it matters

The deal shows the Warriors' strategy to retain key young talent while maintaining their veteran core.
