Wawa and Sheetz Share second place in national convenience-store satisfaction ranking

Wawa and Sheetz tied for the second-best convenience-store chain in the latest ACSI survey, each scoring 80 out of 100.

In the newest ACSI Convenience Store Study, Wawa, Sheetz and QuikTrip each earned an 80-point rating, tying for second place nationwide and falling short of Meijer’s leading score of 82. Wawa was the only chain to capture the top spot in two regions, winning the South and narrowly edging Sheetz in the Northeast, which includes Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Sheetz claimed first place in the Midwest, while QuikTrip tied with BP and Shell for second in that area.

Both Wawa and Sheetz dropped two points compared with last year’s results. The report highlighted a 1% dip in overall convenience-store satisfaction, attributing it to weaker mobile-app performance, store organization and bathroom upkeep. Industry analysts said the growing emphasis on food service, now over 28% of sales, is raising customer expectations for the overall shopping experience.
