West Bengal chief minister urges religious recitation and pledges protection for 'gaumata'
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari addressed a Bhagavad Gita recital at Netaji Indoor Stadium, urging people to recite and distribute Hindu scriptures without fear.
Speaking to a crowd of about 11,000 at a Bhagavad Gita event organized by Bangur Jagaran Mancha, Suvendu Adhikari said there is no reason to be afraid of practicing or promoting faith. He encouraged the distribution of the Bhagavad Gita and Hanuman Chalisa, as well as chanting the Hare Krishna mantra and blowing conches. The chief minister declared that a government focused on traditional symbols has arrived and promised to safeguard "gaumata". He also warned against groups he described as the "tukde tukde gang" that raise the "Kashmir maange azadi" slogan.
