West Virginia Principal Accused of Installing Secret Cameras in Girls’ Locker Rooms
A West Virginia school principal is being sued by multiple students who allege he placed hidden cameras in female locker rooms and watched them undress via livestream.
Eric James, the 53-year-old principal of Brooke High School in Wellsburg, West Virginia, has been sued by eleven students alleging he installed four hidden cameras in multiple girls’ locker rooms and watched the live feed as they changed. The complaints describe incidents at Brooke High, John Marshall High School in Glen Dale, and earlier allegations from his time as a gym teacher at Cameron High between 2000 and 2018.
One student said James waited at the locker-room door before disappearing to view the livestream, while another believed she was captured on one of the secret cameras. James was suspended last Wednesday, booked into the Northern Regional Jail on a $100,000 bond, and has not yet entered a plea. The lawsuits, including a class-action suit, request monetary damages to be decided by a jury. The Brooke County Board of Education, also named in the suits, has not responded.
