The prince was arrested on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office related to his former role as a trade envoy, and Thames Valley Police continue to investigate. Page says he was reminded of confidentiality obligations by the head of royal protection, which he views as an attempt to silence him, and he has filed a formal complaint about alleged improper conduct by a senior officer. The investigation has broadened to seek testimony from current and former royal protection staff.
