WHO medical supply depot hit by air strike near Kyiv, staff unharmed

A WHO warehouse holding humanitarian medical supplies in the Kyiv region was hit by an air strike overnight, according to a spokesperson. Heavy smoke and safety concerns keep the site closed while officials evaluate the extent of damage and any loss of stock. No WHO employees were affected in the attack.

The incident comes after an August raid on a WHO depot in Dnipro that eliminated half of the supplies meant for roughly 225,000 people in conflict-affected zones. A previous wave of attacks in July also damaged another WHO storage facility near the capital. In 2026, at least 20 attacks have targeted humanitarian warehouses, including 15 aimed at health-related stores, prompting the WHO to arrange alternative storage solutions.
