Widespread outage hits Norway's digital public services on Wednesday evening

Several Norwegian e-government platforms experienced a failure on Wednesday night, preventing user logins, but the issue was resolved by 19:24.

Around 18:25 on Wednesday, a technical fault disrupted a range of public digital services, including ID-porten, MinID, Altinn and other self-service portals. Users reported being unable to log in to many of these systems. The Digitalisation Directorate confirmed the problems and worked to restore functionality. By 19:24 the directorate announced that all services were back to normal operation.

Why it matters

The outage temporarily blocked access to essential online government services for citizens and businesses.
