A wildfire ignited in Napa County on Wednesday, quickly growing to about 70 acres and triggering an evacuation warning near Steele Canyon Resort.
The blaze, identified as the Steele Fire, began as a 10-acre vegetation fire on Steele Canyon Road and swelled to roughly 70 acres within an hour, according to CalFire. Authorities issued an evacuation warning covering the area east of Steele Canyon Road, west of Wragg Canyon Road and north of Highway 128. The fire is burning close to Steele Canyon Resort, a campground with boat launches on Lake Berryessa.
